The trail
How Lookout works
A Turo-style marketplace, pointed at the parks. You book a car from someone who already lives beside the gate. They are not a counter. They will tell you if the pass is open.
01
Find a park, then a car
Search all 63 U.S. National Parks. Filter for camping kits, electric range, pets, or a 4x4. Dates matter — popular cars (the Yosemite Bronco, the Glacier Rivian, the Denali Land Cruiser) book out around holidays and first-open of Going-to-the-Sun.
02
Book, or request
Sign in, pick dates, then Trail, Ridge, or Summit protection. Instant book listings confirm immediately. Lookout adds a 10% service fee. Pickup is in the gateway town on the listing.
03
Drive it like a local
Unlimited miles on every car in the catalog. Return it on time, with a reasonably full tank or charge, and without a new dent you do not mention. The host lives there. They will know.
04
List your own
Create an account, attest you carry auto insurance, and list a car in a gateway town. You choose the daily rate. Listings and trips live on your account, and the ranger desk can pause a car or review a claim.
